Insecticidal Treatments

Insecticides come in a variety of different types and formulations. Each insecticide and it's formulation may be specific to certain pests, and the environment in which the treatment must occur.

Different formulations achieve different effects, from rapid knockdown (non-residual) to long-lasting control (highly residual). Some formulations are combined with insect growth regulators to inhibit reproduction in the target species.

Types of delivery system vary, these are:
  • Smoke Generators (Produce insecticide laden smoke, but are not residual)

  • Fogging Treatments (Produce insecticide laden fog, not residual)

  • ULV Treatments (Produce a micro-fine mist, not very residual)

  • Baits (May be granular or gel - good residual action)

  • Sprays (Applied wet, residuality depends upon the specific insecticide used)

  • Dusts (Usually very residual)

  • Fumigants (highly toxic, not residual)
Pest Patrol technicians are trained, and highly experienced in the safe use of each of the methods above, and will advise on the correct insecticide and treatment protocol, dependent on the requirements of the individual premises, and the nature of the pests involved.
