Knowledge & Experience
As with every other industry, techniques in pest control do not stand still.
Pest Patrol evaluate new products and techniques as they arise. In our purpose built
laboratories, and in the field, we assess the benefits of these new methods under the
following criteria:
- COSHH
- Health & Safety
- Efficacy
- Practicality
- Value for money
This approach has led to the rapid implementation of new techniques, and the swift
deployment of new products.
Active Research Programme:
Pest Patrol dedicate a proportion of our profits to 'pure research' into pest control
issues. Currently, we are investigating the spread of bed bugs across the country by
analysis of bedbug DNA, using molecular techniques, utilising samples collected and
stored since 1999.
Whilst this unique research programme has barely started, is hoped that we may start
to understand the explosion of bed bug populations around the world by analysis of
familial DNA across a nine year timeline.
In addition we are interested in the potential application of semiochemical techniques
to the control of cluster flies and in the early detection of bed bug infestation.
